Newcomb's love for color always shines through her work. She uses layers and layers of acrylic paint to create her realistic landscapes. Whether she paints on wood or canvas, her emotions are present through her brush strokes and use of color. When painting on old repurposed wood, both the wood and the painting tell the story together through Newcomb's eyes.
Erin Newcomb earned her Bachelor's Degree from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. She studied French and Fine Arts. From there she travelled to Pont Aven, France and earned a post-baccalaureate degree in Fine Arts. After returning back to Delaware, Newcomb earned her Master's degree in Elementary Education from Wilmington University. She began showing her work again while residing in Bucks County, PA. Nature, adventure, and emotions inspire Newcomb. She paints from her travels around the world as well as up and down the East coast. Newcomb is also inspired by post-impressionist painter Cézanne. Like him, she creates form with her use of color. She captures movement in her paintings with her expressive and constructive brushstrokes.
